    WNBA Draft Monday 7 p.m., ESPN2

Pop (top 25?) and I believe Prins have a shot.

“Anna really blossomed her senior year,” said Agler, who attended two games in Ames this past season. “Her size and shooting ability stick out in a positive way … She has really good offensive skills for somebody who is 6-7.”

Hope they both get drafted! It's one of those opportunities that, if presented, shouldn't be passed up. Regardless of making a team's final roster, it's something you can tell the grandkids about someday.

All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots.

Are women basketball players usually better off just getting a job after college? What kind of salaries to they get in the WNBA?

    Rookies

    • According to the WNBA's collective bargaining agreement, rookies in the league are guaranteed a starting salary of at least $36,570 starting in 2011. That salary will increase to $37,260 in 2012 and to $37,950 in 2013. Those selected in the third round of the draft receive the same salary as that guarantee. Those drafted in the second round receive a minimum of $37,100 in 2011. First round draftees are guaranteed $38,534, while picks five through eight receive $43,205 and the top four picks receive $46,708 as of 2011. Teams are permitted to sign players for a higher amount but must stay under the salary cap of $852,000.

But salaries change into the second year. As the post above gets at the travel and experience playing in a game you love are a lifetime experience. And, I know many College grads that start at that level or have no job at all.

Even the experienced players like Sue Bird made more money playing overseas although I think that bubble has burst a little. For the more average players the chance to play in Europe or Australia could be a great young adult experience. You get expenses and all and can elect to do that and than pick up a career after a couple of years. Depends on how much you like to travel and how much you want to keep playing.

The other day someone told me they didn't understand why women made so much less than the men. I asked where the money would come from and got back "its just not right. I'm pretty sure its illegal. They should sue somebody"

I nodded my head and walked away...what else can you say to that?

Nice to see Pop gets drafted. The problem is: Brian Agler doesn't have a good history of developing rookies.

Congrats! They may not make a killing in pay, but they also don't have student loan debt.
