Think I would put UNC and Duke above Kentucky simply because of location.
All three have similar tradition and fan bases.

Not too much to say about any of the others. Might put Illinois in there near the bottom.

I don't see how uconn can be. There has only been one coach that has ever had any real success there, granted Calhoun was tremendously successful.

But no real conference, no evidence that they can maintain success, remote location. ..Kevin Ollie is gonna have to prove he can continue what Calhoun started before I think uconn is a top 15 job.

I was talking with a friend from Arizona the other day about the UCLA job, and I assumed it'd be on a list like this, but he said no way. The job has lost a lot of luster and the fan support is only a shadow of what it used to be.

I also wonder if Texas would make the list...just a little skeptical on that one.

That said, if I took UCLA and Texas off, who would I put on? Maybe Georgetown and Michigan

I would replace Maryland with Georgetown.

Does being at a football school matter any? Because if so that would probably remove texas, OSU, and florida

How do you define "best job?" "Best" from the coach's ability to ensure he has job security, make the most money, get recruits, etc.?

To me, "best job" seems to be tied with best fan support. If that is the case, schools like Texas and UCLA should be at the bottom or off this list - even though they win a lot - and Michigan State should flip with UCONN.

Florida, UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Indiana, Louisville, Texas, Duke, Ohio State, UCLA, Syracuse, Michigan State, Arizona, Maryland, Wisconsin

I might tweak the order a little bit, if I thought about it some more, but this is a pretty good rough order for me. Don't forget that Billy Donovan was offered the Kentucky job and said, "No thanks."

I think Wisconsin could be on there. They have a good-sized fanbase, are in a prestigious conference, and have quite a bit of in-state talent.

I think that once Tennessee is off probation, that job could possibly make the list as well. They have good fan support, and no problem getting talent to go there.

Good catch. I don't know. The first one, I guess. Once you get past the first 4-6, that next group is all very close.

How does Texas make that list? What basketball tradition, success, or fan interest do they have?

$2.5 million a year, zero pressure from fans, nice recruiting base, tons of money for recruiting, facilities, nice campus/town, never going to get fired.

I could have put it five spots higher.

Only reason Texas would make the list is $$$$

    It's a sleeping giant. It's nowhere near a top 15 (aka blueblood).
