How many no name golfers playing with no TV's and fans watching have had simular situations but no one cared, but it's Tiger and few others top golfers who have cameras and eyes on every move they make, yah that's the price for being the best but give me a break on rules coming in from the fans. Damn refs didn't listen to us against KS or Ohio St in MBB!

Allowing fans to call in as refs is nuts.
Making your decision before the golfer's round is over and allowing him to sign the scorecard without mentioning the problem is an issue.

There's an argument here that Tiger got screwed by the whole thing. I don't believe there should be a penalty here, and that the whole thing is a crock.

And for giving an interview after the round.

Golf looks dumber to me today.

I agree, and if they made a ruling before he signed his card, then I have no problem with him playing.

His 15th hole was literally one of the most unlucky breaks I have ever seen. What person would ever take an advantage from 87 yards to 86 yards?? Even a ******* hack wouldn't.

Except he went from 86 yards to 87 yards...

Re: Tiger Woods facing a possible DQ this morning from The Masters (LINK)

Here's what makes me mad and question some of golf's rules/regulations:

    1) That you can go back after a player has completed a round and change his score.
This should not be allowed. There needs to be an official on every hole/every pairing (as I'm sure there already is) and they need to be able to watch what goes on. Once that hole is completed by that particular pairing, the official then signs off on the hole and that score is then permanent/official and cannot be changed.

    2) That they actually allow viewers to call in and make calls. This is complete and utter BS. I'm currently watching this news conference with The Masters Chairman and he said that they actually look into every call and review what they say. Are you kidding me? You're telling me that you are taking the help from some average joe fatass sitting on the couch at home with the officiating at the prestigious MASTERS golf tournament?!?
This is completely unfair for the players that are on TV more. Every single shot Tiger takes is televised. There are some people that will never have a shot on TV. Tiger was assessed 2 strokes because of some TV viewer. If those 2 strokes don't cost him the tournament, they certainly will cost him big time $$$.
If fans could call in to the officials after basketball games and have calls changed and assess penalties after the game is over, ISU would have been in the Sweet 16 this year.

I don't even understand the rule. He dropped his ball behind the water hazard. How is this cheating?

This is the correct answer. Everyone else saying otherwise is simply blind Tiger hate.

He chose to drop where his ball was last played. And he was supposed to drop as close as possible to the divet. He said he dropped it 2 yards behind the divet.

I think it's funny how in the story on ESPN, the rules committee says they watched the video while Tiger was still playing and determined that he had not committed a violation. They only chose to discuss it again after Tigers interview.

Because the rule is when you drop a ball you have to drop it as close to the original spot as possible. Keep in mind the previous shot - it hit the flag pole marking the hole and bounced into the water. Tiger is skilled enough to know that if he hits the ball exactly the same way just 2 yards further back the ball lands just short of the hole.

Those of us who are hack golfers, the extra 2 yards probably means nothing. For a guy as skilled as Tiger Woods, 2 yards means everything.
