Hooray!!! Don't really want to face him again. Now, lets just hope all these bad things for Texas don't combine to get Rick Barnes fired. I hope he stays there as lllooooonnnngggg as possible :-).

    Whew!

I still think Tejas will be very good next year. I wouldn't be surprised to see them de-throne KU and their streak of conference titles.

With Kabongo... maybe, without, I just don't see them making that big of a jump. Shoot, we've got a better recruiting class coming in this year than they do.

No way. Somebody might but it won't be Texas.

As bad as Texas was early this year without Kabongo, I don't think they will make a huge lead next year. I think they will definitely be better than this year though. We will see if Barnes makes it long enough to capitalize on that.

Why not? They were a young team this year with plenty of talent and managed to do no worse than 7th (and got a few upsets).

Texas lost Jaylen Bond and Sheldon McClellan due to transfer as well.

They should be better next year, simply because their entire team is young, but I don't see them competing for a Big 12 title.

If anyone dethrones KU it will be OSU

I'm thrilled to see him go. Any loss of talent for the other teams in the league makes having a freshman point guard and young back court a little easier

That still leaves at least 5 guys who were top-100 recruits on their team. They've had top 5 recruiting classes the past couple of seasons, and 10/12 guys on their team this year were either freshmen or sophomores. They've got nowhere to go but up.

Do you remember how bad they were pre-Kabongo? Without him, they are big, slow, and really struggle shooting the ball. Maybe that combination can find some success in a conference like the Big East (see Notre Dame) where that is the norm, but it struggles in the Big 12. If you don't believe me, ask West Virginia how that combo works out. Also, listen to Bob Huggins press conference after the first ISU game where he whined for 15 minutes how different this conference is to play against and how he'll have to change his recruiting tactics. Pre-Kabongo, Texas and West Virginia's teams played very similar.

ISU loses its guards, Smart will probably be gone, Jackson will be gone, McLemore will be gone.....now Kabongo.....lots of guards gone out of the Big 12. Maybe ISU will be just fine with 2 Top 150 guards coming in.

So a 7-11 team in the big 12 that is losing its two best players in McClellan and Kabongo and has a lesser recruiting class than ISU is going to dethrone Kansas.

I'll forgive you, sometimes I don't think before I post either.

Ill put any dollar that if I get this ball again, Long said, Its going in.
    - Naz Long to Markel Brown before hitting the game tying shot.
