    Weather Alert...

So with tonight being the first Severe Thunderstorm Watch of the year, I was thinking about back when I was a kid and we would watch channel 5, 8, or 13, and when a warning was in the area, the news station would interrupt regular programming with that "alert music" that would scare the bejeezus out of me (I am talking late 80s, early 90s). Anyone else old enough to remember that? I would give a massive amount of rep if someone could post that old music from any of those stations!!! I literally had nightmares from that alert music, but I would love to hear it again for old times sake.

I remember the good ol' days when the tornado siren would go off for the whole county. Now it's just for the town; just not the same

Depends on the county. I believe some are still like that.

It'd be nice to get a few drought buster storms in April. Sans tornados.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

    Yep.

That's the thing about the averages, they're halfway between what usually happens.

I remember when there were no such things as severe weather warnings. You looked at the sky and if it looked "green" you said, "oh crap" and went to the basement.

Just a few weeks ago I got the itch to hear KCCI's weather alert music from back in the Connie McBurney days. I did a ton of scouring on the interwebs and couldn't find it. Found a bunch of video of Connie's weather casting but not the scary-*** music.

Big rep coming to anyone who can find it.

As soon as I read the OP I thought of the old KCCI weather music from the early to mid 80s. That stuff was scary as hell.
