Seeing guys like Greg Popovich and Bo Ryan give interviews makes me really happy that we have a guy like Hoiberg leading our program

Very good listen....thanks for the link. You can still here the pain in Fred's voice when he talks about the Ohio State loss. Sounds like he thought with a win there we were set up for good things.

I would be bummed out too if I lost to Cherry Cheeks. He was sliding all over the floor two games later.

Very nice hearing an Iowa State coach refer seriously to the opportunity we had to be in the Final Four!

We were close in 2001. I think with CFH we wont be waiting another 12 years to get close again.

Do you mean 2000? 2001 is the year we lost in the first round to You Know Who.

Hes quick to deflect questions that could get him in to trouble. The rutgers situation, the favorite official question. he still gives answers, just avoids saying anything controversial.

extremely intelligent individual and speaker. Fred will be for the mens basketball team what Bill Fennely is for the women's team.

He may become our best spokesperson in any sport.

It's one of the reasons he is so popular up here in the Twin Cities. When he played, he was a go to interview. After he moved to the front office he was the go to guy for all of the local radio shows.

Fred once again made it clear that looking at a transfer here and there will always be a part of the recruiting plan. It is nice to build a team from high school recruits, but adding a transfer who adds talent, experience and maturity to a team and fills a need you may have can be huge.

He's proven that over and over. Fact of the matter transfers seem to be part of college athletics right now(ISU has learned that the hard way.) It's a lot different than 20 years ago in that respect.

That being said do hope(and I'm sure Fred is working to) that we shift to more traditional type players and less focus on transfers.

Well then you were probably happy with his next comment which was to say as of this point the team next year will have no transfers.
