Burke and Hardaway to go pro.

Reports: Michigan's Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. will declare for NBA draft at season's end | MLive.com

should make the game vs Michigan a bit easier next year. Could use some good non-con wins next year.

I think McGary has said he's coming back already. Burke makes that team go, they will look a lot different without him next season.

McGary is just a freshman, right? Seems like he could improve his stock being more of a centerpiece of the team next year.

Wanted Burke to come back so we could give him a standing O for sticking it the jayhawks.

Michigan will still be a top 15 team preseason. Should be a fun game (I hope....)

I honestly see ISU beating UM next year. They were just mediocre on the road this year (see: Penn State). It should be a great OOC win for ISU.

I think the game comes down to Robinson coming back and if he does, him being able to do more than hit threes and finish. They will obviously look much different without Burke but they bring in Walton and Irving who was Indiana's Mr. Basketball. If Robinson doesn't come back I think ISU has a good chance to win but I think with him back along with Stuaskas and McGary, they will be pretty tough. It basically comes down to a lot of things we don't know about either team. We don't know how good our new guys will be or how good their new guys will be, let alone who will even be on their team. Honestly, I'm surprised Hardaway is leaving. He's not a lock for the first round and I don't see a huge downside to returning outside of potential injury.

Yeah, I don't see him being a centerpiece in terms of strategy though. Beilein hasn't every really had much of a post oriented offense. From the standpoint of production, though, he very well could be their most important player.

He almost left last year, it's a weak draft. He's already a junior so he is what he is to NBA guys, he's not going to improve his stock by coming back another year. If anything, without having Burke he might not look as good next year. Time to get paid.

I'm not sure Burke makes him look better. He's statistically just marginally better than his freshman season. If he's the focal point, which he would be next year, I could see his stock improving and I don't see it falling. I would likely draft Stauskas before I would draft Hardaway to be honest. He's a better shooter and outside of maybe defense I don't know of anything Hardaway is significantly better at. I don't disagree with him going necessarily I'm just saying I don't think it matters if he goes this year or next year.

Yeah but he's really old for a freshman. He's actually 4 months older than Devyn Marble who is a junior.

That's crazy. That also made me look up his Wikipedia where I found this interesting tidbit:

McGary does not like to be the bearer of bad news

So now you know, don't ask Mitch to break any tough news to anyone.

"Source: Trey Burke will leave MICH early. Will interview 5 agents: Jeff Schwartz, Arn Tellem, Henry Thomas, Bill Duffy, Alonzo Shavers," Heitner wrote. "Source: Tim Hardaway Jr. will leave MICH early & very strong chance he signs w/ Henry Thomas of CAA."

Folks, does this make sense - you're playing in the biggest college game of your life and you already have agents lined up and you've already made a decision to leave for the NBA?

Sounds doesn't smell right. I'd be pizzed if I was the Mich coach.
