    Jeff Jones

Anyone know our chances with this kid out of Minnesota? I know he visited over the weekend and they changed his status on rivals to a soft verbal to Minnesota. Would be a huge get.

Just saw a tweet about this as well. Wonder what he doesn't like about MN that's making him look at ISU and other places.

    Re: Jeff Jones

This will sound bad but Jerry Kill, IMO, is not in any shape to be coaching D1 football. If I'm a player, I would probably pass on seeing my head coach have a seizure in the middle of the game. I have to think that hurts recruiting up there.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

It sounds terrible but to some extent you are right. I've always wondered how Division I coaches who were in terrible shape could justify running players through conditioning. Same thing was true with Rick Majerus.

I really like having us in the mix for these guys. And it is like we are becoming a regional power with all the interest in BB and FB coming from Minnesota.

    Re: Jeff Jones

Does anyone know is he a similar style RB as Mister out of Ill.? They seem similar sized. Obviously, I would love to have to athletes on our team of their apparent caliber but didn't know if they would be hindered by the recruitment of the other guy.

Here is a write up of his visit.
CycloneReport.com - Jones exploring his options
    Gotta love this too.
"I am definitely interested in Iowa State. They liked me since my freshman year,
so I respect them on that," Jones said. "They have great facilities down there.
There are bigger in the country, but I don't think there is another school that
has the equipment that they have there."

Mister is currently a QB so it's hard to tell.

    Re: Jeff Jones

    Like these excerpts:

"I let them know that I am going to stay committed, but I am going to start to explore my options again," Jones said. "Me and my father had a talk and I felt that it was only right if I gave the other schools an equal opportunity to recruit me.
"Coach [Jerry] Kill was fine with that. He told me to look at just go look at the other schools and check them out."
Jones spoke with Kill on Friday, and was able to schedule a trip the following day down to Iowa State to check out a Cyclones' practice.

The 6-foot, 190-pound Jones does not have any other spring campus visits planned, but he does expect to see several schools over the summer.

Even ignoring his health issues, Kill just kinds of seems like a *******. He regularly throws his players under the bus in his media comments.
