    Re: Hospitality Management

graduated with it. I sell wine and liquor now. Most of the people I graduated with are mostly in sales around that degree, a few still actually work "in the industry" Its super super easy.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Have to agree with you on it being one of the easier majors.

Tough hours if you make it a career though.

How has the transition to selling wines worked for you?

Fiance got her Master's in it. She is interviewing for a different position today. Can't stand the hours and doesn't make enough money to justify the hours.

its been easy. I got lucky though. The people that work in the industry have to put up with ****** hours. If you want to move someplace cool though its a good major. Selling wine is rad, but its hard to get into. I just happened to know somebody in the industry in CO.

I got my degree in it and have to agree with you on the hours, money, and benefits. Went back and got my MBA (finance/accounting) 4-5 years after being out. It was fun while being an undergraduate and several of the classes have a good general business foundation, but 20/20, I would have gone accounting/finance undergrad.

I have been in the hospitality industry for 13 years, and agree with getting more of a business degree vs. hospitality. If you are a hard worker, can put up with crappy hours and low wages you can make a pretty nice living out of it, but it doesn't come easy and you have to be willing to make sacrifices before you can reap the rewards (and salary).

It can be a fun time though, and you will have more interesting stories to take to your grave than any other legal industry out there (besides law enforcement)
