    excited for baseball!

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

    Re: Opening Day!

On MLB.com, there were about 25 people picking winners and only one picked Boston to win East and none picked Yankees. When is the last time that happened?

I think Boston will be OK because they will be able to pitch a little. The Yankees lost something like 218 of there 240 HR's from last year. They might be REAL bad this year. Kuroda is there 2, and Andy Petite is the 3.

    Re: Opening Day!

Cubs prediction seems a little high but with this roster I'd be thrilled if they finished 3rd in the division. I think it's going to be another rough season while they continue to gut the roster and stock the farm system. 70 wins would be good progress sad to say. Especially if they are able to deal Soriano and Garza. Soriano had a productive season last year and despite his downfalls you don't replace 30+ homers and 100+ RBI with whatever they get in return. Would love to see Marmol dealt, last year of his overpaid deal and has problems throwing strikes, Cubs have no need this year for a $9 mil reliever if they can get a decent young arm back in a deal.

I think the Cubs will be better than people are giving them credit for, because they will be able to pitch a little. If Samardjza (sp) develops and Garza stays healthy they will be ok. Plus the Pirates are gonna be bad, and I think the Brewers come back a little, and that Cardinals rotation after Wainwright is less then stellar and there 3 hole is OLD. Its more of an indication on the division.

I saw the Red vs. Angels...........I am guessing since the Astros moved to the AL, there will always be an interleague series going on? I listen to a lot of sports talk radio and haven't heard anything on this topic.

Can't wait to see Vance Worley take the mound against Verlander and the Tigers ... it's probably going to be a long year.

    Re: Opening Day!

I would say the Indians should be higher than 3rd place, but their pitching will be their downfall. Despite spending all of that money and strengthening their line-up, it'll all be for not if the pitching is giving up 6 or 7 runs a game. Which is likely.
