    How does K-State...

Get to play at home the first four rounds of the WNIT. It's not like their crowds have been record setting, less than 2,000 a game from what I saw.

The rule for the women's tournament is the exact opposite for the men's tournament - in the women's tournament, if your school is hosting the site and your school is in the tournament, your school plays at home. In the men's tournament, the host school is not allowed to play on its own court.

He's talking about the WNIT, not the NCAA tourney.

Still likely better crowds than what other teams would have drawn. K-State can also afford to lose money by offering up a higher bid.

How the host schools are chosen
The host site for each game is selected by the WNIT committee based on several factors such as fan base, host bids, facility availability, tournament seed, travel constraints, etc. A team's desire or ability to host or not to host has absolutely no bearing on that team being chosen for the 64-team field.

Oklahoma State played all 6 WNIT games at home last year, averaging just over 2,800.

Well, if that's the case, why are we even having this discussion? If the NIT is an irrelevant tournament, what's the WNIT?

Because those crowds were some of the better numbers going in? Just a guess and not trying to be a smart***.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

By the numbers. That's pathetic, actually embarrassing. Deb, your once "storied program" is slipping. If she continues on this pace, how long does she have? Look at her average conference position finishes, lately.

    1998 - 16 teams
    1999-2005 - 32
    2006 - 40
    2007-09 - 48
    2010-13 - 64

Believe it or not, there's also a 16-team WBI (started in 2010).
