Re: BLOG: Richardson confident in offense

I like the confidence that Richardson shows. This kid, imo, has the chance to be a good one. We have some pretty good offensive weapons at the TE position, which will really help him develop. Obviously needs to go out and prove it, but, it's nice to see that in the QB. It's football season again, best season of the year.

Agree with the TE position. Not comparing us to the Patriots, of course, but you can see how difficult a team can be if they have 2 very good tight ends. I just we had one legit receiving threat...Blythe-esque if you will, to put less pressure on the TE's.

Re: BLOG: Richardson confident in offense

I really hope this is the year we finally get it figured out on offense, but I've been let down too many times to get too caught up in off-season hype. When it comes to our football team scoring more points, I'm in a believe it when I see it mode.

I'm very, very excited to see what he can do after getting a little game experience and actually having a whole off-season to run with the 1's.

“A little bit of both,” said Richardson. “With the new offense I will definitely have to continue to get comfortable with that but physically, we have to start making plays. Maybe it is a little bit more mental just knowing where those plays are going to be at and being able to execute them as well.”

    What new offense?

Re: BLOG: Richardson confident in offense

Im excited for this season. I think the offense gets better with SR at the helm and the talent around him. SR seems to have the best all around potential of any QB that we have had since CPR got here. Doesnt mean squat unless potential turns into production but for some reason I beleive that this will be the year that the offense actually comes together.

Love the weapons that he has at TE and RB. Gotta use them heavily though if they are going to have a big impact. Im not sold on the WR, no reason they cant be good but no consistent proof yet.

I mentioned this in another thread but if the OL is as bad as it was last year we are in big trouble. They have to find a way to make defenses pay when they bring pressure. We didnt do that last year and the offense just stagnated.

Coach K has to earn his paycheck and the rest will be fine.

New Oline coach seems to be having a fairly big impact on the playbook

Has this been discussed in detail anywhere? It isn't a surprise, but this was the first explicit reference to it that I've seen.

I'm in the same boat. I think we've seen this story the last 5 years. Players and coaches talking about how the offense is finally clicking, and then seeing little-to-no progress offensively from the year before.

The only thing I remember is that it was discussed after the hire as a benefit to bringing him in.

I really hope kleinakis can get the run game going. It sounds like he's really had a lot of in put so far this off season and the o line is kicking butt in practice. That better translate somewhat into gameday because our run game was pitiful last season. It was supposed to be a strength
