    Golden Gophers coaching search

Is this the most botch coaching search you can remember. It's not like message board posters are just throwing out names. Well some of them are. However, They have now missed on 3 coaches, Shaka, Fred, and Brad Stevens that were in no way going to leave there current jobs for the job in Minnesota. If they end up with Flip Sanders (Who is a good coach) it would almost be embarrasing as losing all the other coaches. Flip is just right down the street.
I think the Gophers need a new AD.

It's right up there with BVDV firing LE and then being all like,"Hmmm....what do I do now?"

It is not a good sign when the best available coach out there right now is the one you just fired.

I think it'll be Grant. He has connections with the department in Minnesota and he isn't THAT bad of a coach.

Flip would'vd been a good get, but I don't think Minny fans want him anymore.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Why do you even trust these stories that claim Minnesota has offered this guy or that guy? My assumption is that most of this media speculation has zero basis in factuality.

I, personally, think he's dirty, which is why it seems a lot of top tier programs are staying away.

Wouldn't it be funny if they swapped coaches?

I guess I don't know much about him other than that he seemed like a pretty darn successful coach. Seemed to have been running a loose ship at UCLA as far as controlling his players off the court, but I haven't paid much attention other than that.

He went all Mcdermott at UCLA. Didn't know how to control the top guys compared to the other role players. Just like Greg. He treated the better players way different than he did the role guys.

You beat me to it. That search didn't exactly scream out smoothness.
