Looking at buying a new truck. Any salesmen or dealers that you have had good luck with?

I didn't have a bad experience at Dewey a few years back, but it was with the Jeeps.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

A little bit of a drive, but Macke Ford in Coon Rapids. HUGE ISU supporters.

I knew after reading this that I would never consider buying a vehicle from the Gabus group:
“Why is this any concern of The Des Moines Register?” Gabus asked when quizzed about Luebke’s status.
“I don’t think it’s a public issue,” Gabus said. “It’s a business issue between me and Mr. Luebke. … He’s suspended, and what we decide will be kept in confidence.”

No way in hell would I ever give a company that has that statement and would have that man as their manager any business at all.

    Re: Ford Dealer

The Ames Ford dealership is under new management as of last fall. I haven't bought from them but took our car in for service and chatted with one of the service managers for a bit. The inventory is much better than under the old management, and by the sound of it sales have improved by about 10x. They supposedly go with the one price no negotiating needed model. I have bought one car in my life, from Dewey in Ankeny, and didn't really haggle then, so I don't know how well that holds up or if it's still a sales gimmick. Might be worth a look.

    Re: Ford Dealer

Had pretty good experience (although it has been a while) with the Ford dealership in Granger.

Macke Ford in Coon Rapids - I'll second on them being big ISU-backers.

    Re: Ford Dealer

Not anywhere near your area but Bill Colwell in Hudson is good. I walked out of Moffitt in Boone and told them don't bother calling me. Maybe I just had the wrong guy that day, but a lot of what took place reflected poorly on the whole dealership.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
