    What should we expect this season?

    Looking at the depth chart and what we have returning I'm thinking we will have a season similar to what the Hawks had this past year.

    However, with that being said I'm hoping in another year or two we could be taking the next step and getting to a better bowl.

    Thoughts?

    We're going Bowling. This team, while young, is better than CPR's first team. Much better athletically. New to the field, not new to the system.

    I'm going to be cautiously optimistic. Lost a lot of the defense.

    I'm really hoping the QB/WR thing develops more. It seems like it could, but I say that every year.

    I'm not sure I foresee a bowl game. Unless the QB play is a ton better than last year. Defense is gonna be weak, Running game has failed to impress for 2 years now, so why would that be any different.

    I am hopeful for 6 wins, but realistically seeing 4-5.

    Let me say I am pessimistic by nature.

    I don't know enough about who is returning/coming in to say whether there are six wins on that schedule or not. But I certainly hope so. My total non-informed guess would be beat UNI for 1, win three of Tulsa, Iowa, Baylor, and Kansas for 4, and then find another two wins among the remaining 7 games.

    Tough call. Let me preface by saying I am a huge CPR fan, but not sure I have ever been more disappointed in the coaching staff than the Liberty Bowl.

    At least the year before, when we got completely out-played by Rutgers, I was hopeful that Herman moving on was the sign of better things. But, IMO, last year's team really squandered a great defense with another year of poor offensive play. We should have been at least 7-5, if not 8-4.

    So I don't have very good feelings about this next year and will be happy if we can bowl again at 6-6. At Tulsa is a huge game.

    The pistol offense, apparently.

    In reality, I'm expecting to see the O-line be much better than last year. This should translate into the better QB efficiency since he won't be running for his life the whole game. This should also lead to an improved running game.

    There is plenty of talent with the young WR corp, and hopefully that can translate to the field.

    One thing that I expect, but not looking forward to, is that our safeties may be our leading tacklers. Jake and AJ worked their butts off to be in the right place at the right time and that is something that comes with experience, which we don't have with the LB corp at this time.

    Tulsa is week three, but I agree that is a huge game. If we can go into the conference season 3-0 that's huge. If we are 2-1 or 1-2 it might be a long fall.

    Interesting. I heard it was moved to Thursday night, but thought it was the opener. Did they move the week too, or was I just thinking of this year?
