    McGee vs Willoughby

If you HAD to pick one, which would you choose? Both are deadeye from the three and gave 100% at all time. Both could run off a screen and turn in mid-air to nail the shot. And both just had that swagger to do whatever it took to win the game.

Both are great and I'm not trying put one of the two down. Just a fun question and I'm interested in everyone's answers.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Probably McGee - his elevation is much better. McGee is stronger but i'll always remember Willoughby hitting some clutch 3's.

I love Tyrus, but Dedric was first team all Big XII both of his years here. I'm going with Dedric.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Wow, that's tough. Willoughby is probably in my list of top 5 all time favorite Cyclones. But their roles and what was asked of them were different. I wonder if my opinion of McGee would be different if he was on a roster with less balance top to bottom.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Probably Willoughby, as he was THE offensive weapon and the guy opposing teams had to stop. I do think that Tyrus could have been that guy had we needed him to be.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Dedric was the more complete player. I'm a huge McGee fan but Dedric was big time and very clutch. If it was a big game you could count on Dedric.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Willoughby was also a great defender as well.

McThree is pretty good, but I'd take Willoughby.

    What's with all these comparisons today? McGee-Willoughby. McGee-Thomas. '12 team - '13 team.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Probably McGee because Dedric has to be well past his prime by now.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

I saw Dedric shooting arounds a few months back. He can still stroke the 3 ball pretty good. He must have made 8/10 in the short period I saw him.

Good point, I think Tyrus could have led the Big 12 in scoring playing for a lower half team without really playing like a ball hog. He had to be near the top in points per minute both of his years here.

For offense only? McGee. All-around Willoughby.

    Re: McGee vs Willoughby

Tough choice. Both are among my favorite players of all time.

I personally would give the edge to Dedric because he was absolutely CLUTCH. He had the knack for sticking the dagger when it was needed. I can't remember how many times another team would hit a three to kind of get back in it and DW would go down and take it right back from them.

Because of that killer instinct, I give the edge to DW.
