Teams beating ISU win National Titles

Not sure if this has been posted yet.

    Got this from ESPN...

The last three single seeded teams that beat the Cyclones in the NCAA Tourney have gone on to win the National Title...

    2012 - Kentucky
    2005 - North Carolina
    2000 - Michigan State

Re: Teams beating ISU win National Titles

The solution to playing a 1 or 2 seed in their backyard is to win more games in the regular season. Someday we will get that 1 seed...someday.

I can see it happening again this year. All though, Louisville will be tough to beat.

I almost posted this yesterday. I was going to congratulate OSU on their championship.

I'm not sure why they put the "single seed" caveat in there, it's not needed

Because there was this one double digit seed that didn't win a championship.

He may have permanently blocked that from memory as many of us have.

I got this alert from ESPN yesterday, too, and was scratching my head wondering why they added that "single-seed" caveat...

    Then I remembered. Ugh.

We were a 2 seed in 2000. Shameful that MSU got to play the regional final basically at home that year.

Understandable. I still cringe when I hear the name. It should be starred out on this board.

Judging by the fact that it hasn't yet been said in this thread, I'm not sure it needs to be blocked.

And it better not be mentioned, either.

Yes, I have no problem playing OSU as a #2 in Dayton, just KU got to play in KC in the first two rounds (I refuse to call that Round 3, smh). They earned with their season performance.

But getting to play a "home" game in a regional final is kinda of a joke. On the other hand, that stuff is awarded years in advance, so some of it cannot be helped. At least Indiana does not get to play in Indianapolis, but I am sure Louisville will not be too far.

Probably isn't as big an issue for the Final Four site since most of the tickets are harder for fans to get a hold of and make it a true "home" situation.

Re: Teams beating ISU win National Titles

Haven't read the rest of the responses, but my immediate thought: That streak will end this year. OSU will probably make the final four, given the west bracket being destroyed, but I'm guessing they will be the weakest team at the final four.

Louisville is good but I don't think they can consistently play as well as they did against CSU. They were nothing short of dominant that game.
