    Reviewing Plays

Do any of you think that the NCAA will look into making more plays reviewable? Iowa State has made national headlines twice now for calls gone wrong in a span of three weeks. Personally, I think the NCAA needs to go NBA-style when reviewing plays. I've always thought this. Kansas wasn't reviewable because there was a no-call, but this Ohio State play was.

If a ref makes a call and has the balls to admit they may be wrong and should look it over, then they should be allowed to. There's no way the ref that made the charge call on Clyburn was positive that was a charge, it was a complete guess. And there's also no way he could've seen Voldemorts...I mean Craft's foot hovering the line either.

Like I've said in earlier posts, we lost the game ourselves - dumb turnovers, missed dunks, and missed free throws down the stretch. But you have to wonder if official reviews will be expanded next year.

    Re: Reviewing Plays

Its not even his foot being the issue -- although, watch the refs eyes, he is not even looking at the feet -- but instead, it is about a guy sliding under Clyburn AFTER he has jumped(and is actually on his way down), he even releases the ball before any contact is made. Worst case scenario, charge and the bucket.

    Re: Reviewing Plays

They have to install an instant replay system for the last two minutes of games.
It doesn't prevent errors for the first 38, and it almost certainly won't prevent every possible error afterwards, but it gets us closer.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

if anything I say no more replays...they game is already getting drug out with all the clock screw ups and all the elbows...refs aren't perfect and no need to start replaying that

    Re: Reviewing Plays

NBA only has who touched it before going out of bounds and goaltending reviewable in the final 2 minutes and overtime. Along with clock errors and two vs three at any point during the game like the NCAA.

I could see the NCAA adopting the out of bounds review but nothing more than that anytime soon.

    Re: Reviewing Plays

They have spent a TON OF TIME reviewing the stupid elbow flagarent foul situation in just the NCAA games I have watched this year. wouldn't think it would take much more time and it would be a better use of time to review charge/block in last 5 minutes of game?

    Re: Reviewing Plays

If a ref can review a three pointer to see if a players foot was on the line or not, he should be able to review a call to see if his foot was on the restricted area arch. Otherwise, whats the point of having the line? It's not a "general area" within 6" or so inches of the line. He's either on the line or not. Take time to make sure it's correct.

I realize you're a troll, but I agree that some of these replays last long enough that they essentially amount to a timeout; that surely has an impact on the game.

This. The whole Flagrant 1 review thing is just plain stupid.

    Re: Reviewing Plays

I'll bet anyone in the next year or so there will be a review available in the last minute because of the ku and osu games. No longer will the refs be able to pick the team that is suppose to win.

Hell, if they can spend time reviewing if its a flagrant foul (which gets absolutely ridiculous, but thats another topic), they can review a lot of other, more important things to the game.

that doesn't matter....I say review goaltending and out of bounds in final 2 minutes like NBA. if they are going to start reviewing fouls basketball will become unwatchable

they won't start to review FOULS. if they do then they need to start reviewing fouls for the whole game

    Re: Reviewing Plays

BTW, I am not convinced Ejim hit that rebound out of bounds. I would have appreciated a second look there.
