    Just got back

Just got back to Chicago from Dayton after driving through one of the worst blizzards I've ever seen in Central Indiana. After seeing replays of the Clyburn "charge" (wink, wink), boy am I steamed (I really didn't have a good angle on the play at the game). I wish the NCAA would just shut-up about how the officials did the best job that they could, blah, blah...they once again played a major part in deciding the outcome of a game. When the head ref guy tells Greg Gumbel that he's not convinced Craft's foot was over the line, he lost all credibility.

And one more thing, the ******-baggery displayed by Ohio St. fans was comical. What a bunch of dicks.

They tread a fine line between admitting fallibility and retaining their credibility. It really doesn't bother me as I don't normally think they make those mistakes on purpose (such as this case). Just wish we'd be on the other end of the game-changing call once in awhile.

    Re: Just got back

When the same teams routinely get jobbed, it leads me to believe the officials either have money on the game or have a predetermined mindset on who "should" win.

What you saw happen to ISU this year probably hasn't happened to Duke, KU, Kentucky, and North Carolina throughout their entire combined existence.

Really? ISU 36 rebounds. OSU 22 rebounds. OSU missed one more free throw than ISU. Who are you?

    Re: Just got back

KU or UK vs UNC or UCLA...draws big $$$. Even a VCU or Bradley draws a Cinderella audience...but ISU, Vandy, Old Miss type programs..."lower Majors" as it were...are not who they want to see going forward. We get less breaks than anyone because of it. Just like the B12 is perfectly happy with KU getting officiating breaks...they may NOT push for it...but they surely don't do anything to change it either.

Yeah, my brother-in-law were saying the same thing. We definitely got a generous call vs Creighton at the Well in DM on JVB's last second 3ptr a couple years ago. But you have to really go back to our 1997 2nd round game vs Cinci when it comes to a favorable call in an extremely meaningful game. I remember Kenny Pratt landing on #33's leg and then reaching out to grab the other leg. #33 was called for traveling, but it really could have been a foul on Pratt. That call definitely was a game changer.
In regards to today - if we gather in that rebound with 30 sec left, the game may have played out a whole lot differently. That said, I agree with what has been said over & over again that the charge against Clyburn was horrid!

Utah Utes, Illinois Illini. The University of Pennsylvania thought about following this pattern by calling themselves the Pennsylvania Pencils. However, they were afraid their students would start chanting "We're No. 2"

    Re: Just got back

Looks like the troll got removed.

By the way, the comment "the Hawks is for Atlanta" - more like "the Cyclones is for Brooklyn".

True about the call involving Pratt, but I considered that justice given the absolutely horrible call made shortly before it where Cato was called for a foul despite getting all ball and not having contact with the shooter.
