    Anthony Booker ‏@booker222h
Thank you for taking a chance on me @ISUMayor32 you believed in me when I was at my lowest point in life 3 years ago. Learned alot. Thx...

    Gonna miss these seniors.

Re: What book said after it all

Out of all the seniors, Booker might be the one that I feel the most for. It seems like the Oklahoma State game at Hilton was a real turning point for him. He's only played 6 games since then and he doesn't see the floor a whole lot, anyway. More than anything else, he just wants to play another game.

Re: What book said after it all

One of the best parts about the last month or so was Booker figuring things out. As everyone probably knows (and is annoyed by) the mother in me wants to defend these guys that get bashed by our fans (Booker, Korie, whoever else gets bashed). So I spent a lot of time defending Book.

He was a different person after that team meeting after the Oklahoma game and the poor guy looked devastated after the game. Really proud of him and happy he stuck it out and has his degree. He is an example of sticking with a kid and things turning out better. There were rumors that he was leaving at semester, but I am glad that he didn't.

I'm going to miss Booker. His body language today said it all; I teared up seeing how crushed he was when Craft hit that 3.

Sorry for bringing up Booker's body language, guys

Best time it's ever been brought up.

This is the first time I've ever tweeted players, starting with Booker. Just want them to know that our family is proud of them and glad they're Cyclones.

That trip back must really stink.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

This and seeing his emotion at the end of the game, really reminds me these are young men and this loss hurts them far more than us...sometimes we get on here and fling some pretty hurtful things. Winning is important, but I hope CFH and his staff can keep helping these guys become men of character and bring in guys that will benefit from the ISU experience.

I think these are they type of guys that are probably going to be close for the rest of their lives. They all just seemed to care so much for each other.

Re: What book said after it all

Kilroy had more guts than I did, starting a Booker thread. I am happy for Booker, and hope he does well in whatever is next in his life. We were really fortunate to have Booker on this team, and I challenge anyone who says any differently.

Re: What book said after it all

Probably will get a lot of disagreement with this, but coming out of high school, I have no doubt in my mind he had NBA talent and just made a few bad choices.

    1. Probably shouldn't have gone to Southern Illinois. Hard to go to the NBA with a team full of crap, they won't make you look any better

    2. Sounds like he has had a few rough years and it showed a lot on the court. But when it came time where we needed him most, he gave his all. I just don't think he gave his all in practices, which hurt him most.

That being said, I love Booker. Definitely one of my favorite seniors of the group. Sure, he was negative at times, but he also showed more passion than anyone on the team at times as well.

I don't think we've had a team in ISU history where the players were this close to each other. Not '99. Not '00. Not '05. Not '12. We've had better teams at ISU. But this team took "All in" to a whole new level.

Rivals has Southern Illinois listed as Booker's only offer out of high school. Booker committed to SIU during the 2007 season when they went 27-6, won the MVC, got a #4 seed, and made the Sweet 16.

Booker was really into the game today; great to see his enthusiasm. Best wishes for this man's future and thanks for being a Cyclone

Booker has always had an NBA body, for sure. He is certainly nice to look at :)

My personal theory about Booker (and I've thought about it a lot actually) is that he had trouble fitting in at different places. He's always seemed like a person that struggled with that. Like I kind of think that he may be didn't have a lot of friends on the team, until recently when it seems like Korie has kind of taken him in.

I have entered the, it will be hard to sleep tonight so I might as well drink since the season is over, phase. So be looking for my posts tonight with my psych analysis of various players and coaches. Don't worry, I have lots of them.
