    Now what seniors?

I'd first like to thank the team for another outstanding year with many unforgettable memories, particularly the seniors. A lot has been said of your journeys, and this will rank among my top memories as a Cyclone fan.

This moment got me thinking deeply though; So many of us fans are 'heartbroken' after a moment like this, but within a few days we will move on, not forgetting this moment, but moving on with it in the rear view mirror, awaiting the next great moment in Cyclone history. We have our lives, jobs, and families to go back to.

Seeing the emotion out of a man like Anthony Booker after that Craft shot, got me thinking; what comes next for somebody like him? That emotion was more than just the end of an NCAA Tournament, more than the end of a college basketball career. It was the end of one life and the beginning of another.

For the most part, through all the good and bad, we've been there for these guys, giving support, and they've been there for us.

Other than being a die hard fan of ISU and a couple pro teams, I have never become too concerned about the aftermath of the lives of athletes I've cheered for, after their athletic career ends. I understand that a few of them will pursue a pro basketball career, whether it be in Europe or elsewhere.

But, what becomes of these young men? Do potential employers give them a leg up on others for a job based on their commitment to teamwork, dedication, and hardwork? Or are they left behind to only be forgotten about?

Great thought. For many, this is it bball wise. Since a young age they've been working for this.

I hope all the seniors get shots at pro ball if that's what they want and know how much they've done for ISU.

    Re: Now what seniors?

Pretty sure Fred said in an interview that all of our seniors have already completed the coursework to get their degrees except tyrus who needs one more class. Those guys will be fine Fred will make sure of it and that's another benefit for playing for Fred.....he knows how important academics are in the long run for these guys.
