    Could the officials...

Is it possible for the officials to review the replay of the charge call? Simple question here.

I thought I had seen that in a game earlier this year, but it might have been pro ball.

    Director of Officiating said no.

If I were guessing, that will probably be changing soon. Some will love it, some will hate it, but it likely has to change.

No, they cleared this up with the in-studio officiating guy (NCAA director of officials?) in the postgame show on CBS.

Director of Officials said no. I think that needs a change.

If you can review whether a shot is a 3 pointer or not, you surely should be able to look at these crucial calls too.

No you can't. And that will never ever ever ever be reviewable. Three pointers aren't much of a judgment call. Just about everything else outside of out of bounds in basketball is.

    Re: Could the officials...

They'll change it to be able to review the restricted circle.

They will never and can not ever review block/charge calls. just if the guy is in the circle or not.

    Re: Could the officials...

Has to change...with the speed of the game and the propensity of referees to make game-decision calls like that...they need to do it to save their reputation, at the very least. Absolutely no excuse not to.

    Re: Could the officials...

I don't think they should make it reviewable except regarding the semi-circle. Block/charge should stay a judgement call, imo, but like a 3-pointer,reviewing whether a foot is on a line should be consistent for all calls, even close calls on out of bounds situations

Please no. Yes they ****ed up but lets get real. Most fouls are judgement calls. They just need to change the rule.

Its not a judgement call. Was his foot on the line, yes or no? I don't think it was a charge regardless, even if he was out of restricted.

A block/charge is not a judgment call? I disagree. However, I think the only thing that will become reviewable in the future is whether the defender's foot or any part of it is on or above the restricted circle. They cannot go to a review of whether a call should be a block or a charge. Doing so sets a precedence for other types of reviews.
