Good Defense or a Maul Job?

There is a difference. Mauling and fouling and getting away with it being confused with good defense.

Re: Good Defense or a Maul Job?

The mauling is on the inside. A couple of obvious fouls missed (Bubu got fouled for sure), but overall, I'd rather let them play.

Re: Good Defense or a Maul Job?

There is a little mauling but it isn't really seen. When it's good defense 95% of the time, it's easy for the 5% to be overlooked.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

Refs have called it pretty even IMO. Letting both teams play which I like.

These have been great refs. Leave players in .... don't call fouls.

Re: Good Defense or a Maul Job?

There is some mauling down low. The problem is we've been entering the lane completely out of control.

Unfortunately, this is how college basketball is now being called. Hand checking is allowed and it drives me absolutely crazy. If a foul is defined as impeding an offensive players movements towards the basket. How is pushing him in the opposite direction not the essential definition of this? I would love to see college basketball adopt the NBA's style officiating the game. I feel the college level has taken the finesse out of the game by allowing the defense do almost anything they wish.

Don't even get me started on all of these types of Flagrant fouls either... those are ridiculous

Re: Good Defense or a Maul Job?

The only easy call the ref should have made if Bubu wasn't fouled (which he was) then it wasn't a foul on him. Everyone saw that.

Re: Good Defense or a Maul Job?

refs have been fine. cant expect 100% perfection from the refs on every single call. Overall, not much to complain about when it comes to the refs
