Big 10 living up to the hype

Went 6-1 in the first round. Now 2 for 2 sending teams to the Sweet 16. And did it in convincing fashion. So far living up the "best conference in basketball" hype. Would be sweet to shut them all up tomorrow with a win.

Yep, I don't think there is any doubt which is the best conference in America.

Agreed, I think we all knew Big 10 was best this year. The Big 10 in basketball is not the SEC in football however.

Take away their four home games, then let's talk. Don't get too excited about the Big 10 yet.

Sure. They're doing well. We knew they were good. This is no revelation. It's a great year for them.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

I would say that so far their postseason performance has been close. I would have to figure out who the second best conference is to judge but no conference has been close to them outside of the A10.

    I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU

    Or so I have read.

    Big 10 this postseason:

Michigan and Michigan State beat two teams that they were supposed to with big home-court advantages.
Minnesota wins as an 11 in a game they were favored in against a joke of a 6 seed.
    Illinois wins a 7-10 tossup.
    Indiana beats a 16 seed.
Ohio State beats a 15 seed.
Wisconsin blows a game as a 5 seed.

Like ojoe said, let's wait and see. I think they are the best, but they haven't done that much yet other than mostly "hold serve" so to speak.

A bunch of low seeds winning the games they should win. Nothing to sniff their butts about.

Again, the top 4 of the big 10 is great. The rest no more than average.

Illinois and Minnesota have represented their second tier of teams pretty well.

Because they won toss up games over UCLA and Colorado? Okay.

Re: Big 10 living up to the hype

The Big 10 has been raved about and done well early in the tournament the past dozen years. Why they don't have a championship in that time frame remains a mystery.

Yeah, an 11 seed winning by 20 points is a pretty good showing. We won by 18 as a 10 over a 7 seed, if we lost to OSU tomorrow are you going to think we didn't have a good tournament showing?

Re: Big 10 living up to the hype

I love that the Big 12 is terrible. I want to out compete those guys always. I don't get warm fuzzies knowing that the other teams in our conference are really good. All that matters is how well ISU does.

If this is the Big 12's worst year, its doing pretty well.
