    TV for Game Tomorrow?

Is this the worst non conference television we have had in recent years? Thank god for clonezone but the picture doesn't look that great. It's probably one of the bigger non conference games tomorrow against UNI and the only service that is televising it is mediacom? This game should be available for everyone even if they only have an antenna!! Every Iowa game is on tv and in HD, and a lot of the state wont even get the Iowa State vs UNI game, hmmmm...

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

If its on TV (and all the games have been on so far), then its fine by me. I have Mediacom so it matters not to me who carries the game. And not every Iowa game is televised in HD, lets not go crazy here.

I have a question for others who have been watching the last few games on clone zone...Have you had problem with the audio? Mine has been decent but i wish it would be a little louder

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

Well since you have mediacom you probably don't have the big 10 network. I don't know if I have seen an Iowa game this year that hasn't been in HD. My clonzone is also very quiet, basically have to turn the speakers all the way up to get good audio.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

I don't have the Big 10 Network and I don't want it. As for Iowa basketball games, the one they played against Bradley certainly wasn't in HD. If you're talking football, that is a completely different story as all football games on the Big 10 Network are broadcast in HD. Even Northwestern and Indiana.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

Actually, it isn't a different story at all. Everything I have seen on the big 10 network is broadcasted in HD going from hockey, woman's volleyball, and yep Hawk basketball games.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

I agree Lennon that this tv schedule isn't favorable. Living out of state mediacom isn't an option for me. So even subscribing to Full Court hasn't helped me see all the games... I wasn't able the watch the Minnesota game and it doesn't look like I'll be able to watch the UNI game.

If I did live in Iowa I still wouldn't want Mediacom as I'm a Sunday Ticket subscriber.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

How many of their basketball games have been on the Big 10 Network? Just curious. Two, maybe? Not sure. Either way, no interest to me in watching them but to see what our guys are going to have to prepare for when we play against them.

Point is, the coverage of our basketball games is MUCH better than the coverage of our football games. Moaning about the television package for football is permitted, but not necessary at all for basketball.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

Well I remember their first four games who were against Idaho St, Northern Colorado, Florida Gulf Coast, and Maryland Eastern Shore were all on the big 10 network and all of them were in HD. The Bradley game was on a different station, as was the Wake Forest game. So they have only had one game not on TV which was the Utah state game. And out of there 6 games that have been televised 5 of them were in HD.

Five of Iowa's basketball games have been on the Big Ten Network... They have had one non televised game so far.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

And yes the television may be good COMPARED to football, which by the way we have a lousy tv package to begin with. But if you compare it to past seasons I always remember being able to watch most games on channel 5. And to top it off the UNI and Minny game haven't been on tv unless you have mediacom. Even the hawkeye game is only available if you have ESPNU, that is just pathetic if you ask me! Hopefully the big10 network will pick up that game!

I didn't tell you that you couldn't complain about it, just that it wasn't necessary.

So, Iowa has had one non-televised game. I believe all of ISU's games have been televised in one form or another. Looks like we've got a pretty decent television package.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

Well yeah if you look at it that way it looks as if we have a good package. I just think that anyone in the state of Iowa should have no problems watching ISU vs UNI.

    Re: TV for Game Tomorrow?

Of course the television package can be improved upon, but for me, I'm just glad they're even on TV at all considering we couldn't even freaking watch the ISU/kNebraska football game on TV (or Kent State, or Toledo, or Texas Tech, or Missouri, almost half of the season's games). It should come as no surprise that it is difficult for ISU fans outside of Iowa to watch ISU in basketball.
