    Re: Royce White to Houston

Royce is done, sorry to say. In hindsight he should have stayed 2 more years at ISU, probably would've been the greatest cyclone in history.

Not sure about Fred, but Keith Murphy has said multiple times on the radio that he thinks there are a fair number of people in the program that were relieved when Royce went to the NBA. Sounds like he was a lot more to handle in his time at ISU than most fans realized.

    Don't get too excited:

    Royce White ‏@Highway_3022h
Don't understand the uproar because I'm working out in Houston... Lol, relax ppl! Showing you're too high strung over sports.

I have trouble believing this. I am sure he wasn't easy, but was he good? He played for us NBA quality basketball. There was no doubt when he left here, he has the talent. His interviews showed that he is intelligent also. I guess all we can do is wait for his next move.

Not liking hotels is a problem. There's ways around it (airbnb), but pretty sure the league isn't going to go for that. First I have ever heard of that..

Yes he is extremely talented. I just think all the necesary Royce accomodations began to take a toll on the other very talented players on the team and it was getting close to a point where the benefit of him being in Ames would outweigh all the accomodations that came with it.

At present, the benefit Royce provides the Rockets is not worth the added accomodations he needs/requests, or it sure seems. At ISU it was worth if and Fred and Co made it work. Kudos to all for that.

    Re: Royce White to Houston

People on the Houston forum are stupid. I have seen this before, but some are just plain ******* stupid. They're ****** about this and blaming White, even though it was the team doctor who told him to do it. If anything, it's a good sign he's following the advice of people in the organization. Yeah it sucks he won't be playing, but the D League season is ending I believe next week anyway. The Rockets probably don't want to waste time and start doing big time workouts with the guy to get him into his previous shape.

You certainly know more about this than I do. I wasn't following on this website last year.

Just thinking in terms of interpreting sources, but right now, isn't it only Royce who says the team doctor told him that? He does have his own self-interest in this thing, which makes it possible that he's just covering his own backside. People do that.

Whatever the deal is right now, none of us are going to have access to it. I don't see Royce helping himself here. This would probably be better done as a team announcement, and that hasn't happened yet. The next step should be seeing some sort of announcement from the team. Maybe that offers some more clarity to the situation.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

    Re: Royce White to Houston

I don't get the fascination with following a former Cyclone's challenges in his career. Sure I hoped he would be a star and shine brightly on Iowa State, but I'll always remember what he did in one season to help Iowa State become relevant again.
