Upsets you think could very likely happen that aren't being discussed by 'experts'?

Davidson over Marquette, Minnesota over UCLA, Bucknell and Belmont winning...those are all talked about as the ones to watch for upsets it seems so far.

What are YOUR big potential upsets in the round of 64 and round of 32?

    Mine are:

    • If NC State plays Indiana in the round of 32, it will not shock me at all if the Hoosiers go down
    • I haven't been sold on Kansas State despite their very good season. Something just doesn't sit right. The fact they are playing in KC is huge, but if it's Boise State they play first, i think that will be a lot closer than people think.
    • Also think KU will have their hands full with either UNC or Nova.
    • Keep an eye out for Pitt over the Zags as well. Just a hunch.

I'm also have a hunch about Pitt over the Zags, but I think that is because I haven't seen the Zags enough.

    Wichita State over Gonzaga.

Wichita matches up incredibly well at every position, is more athletic, and plays much better defense. Gonzaga doesn't get out of the first weekend...

One of the broadcasters on Selection Sunday predicted Montana over Syracuse. I think that Fla GC has a legitimate shot at GGtown.

I have the Grizz advancing to the sweet 16 in one of my pools. I have them beating Cal to advance. Not likely to happen, but they have a very good back court and think they can hang with the Cuse to the end.

Re: Upsets you think could very likely happen that aren't being discussed by 'experts

    Harvard over New Mexico

    Look at New Mexico's schedule...

They beat Davidson by 5, Illinois-Chicago by 7, George Mason by 1, Indiana State by 9 in OT, and New Mexico State by 5.

They lost to South Dakota State by 5 as well.

New Mexico doesn't score a lot of points (172nd in points per game) and they don't shoot a particularly high percentage either (218th in FG percentage).

Harvard on the other hand scores a little better on average then the Lobos (137th in points per game) but they do shoot a great percentage (12th in FG percentage).

It is the perfect recipe for an upset. Two teams that don't score a ton of points in what will be a slow paced game. The advantage goes to the team that is more efficient on the offensive end because possessions will be limited and that team is Harvard.

that was one of the first upsets I picked because my system is "pretty names" and I love the name Montana. I heard that announcer say that and was like STOP COPYING ME. My "real" bracket changed it back though. My random espn one that's full of upsets included that one though.

I could see Gonzaga, Kansas, and Duke going down pretty early though. All on complete guesses, my basketball IQ is like an 8.

I took a look at Montana's schedule this season to see if they had any reputable games against quality teams that might lead someone to believe they could upset one of the better teams in the Big East in Syracuse. There is absolutely nothing there. The 2 best teams Montana played all season were Colorado State and BYU and they lost both games by a combined 32 points. Their best win... good luck finding one because the only games they won were against low level mid major teams and they did not play a single game against a Power 6 Conference school.

I got Ole Miss over Wisconsin...Wisconsin can't score and I've seen them lose to Purdue by double digits at home. Not sold on Marshall Henderson but still could see it happening

Davidson, Bucknell, Florida Gulf Coast, boise State (If they win the play in game), South Dakota State, Oregon, Minnesota, St. Mary's, and Belmont. All of them could win.

2nd Round - NC State over Indiana, UNC over Kansas, ISU over OSU, Boise State over Wisconsin.

Put me down for Louisville pulling the upset. Nobody even sees them coming. In fact, I could see them making a deep run of it too.
