Thanks for the analysis. Looks like it will be an intriguing matchup.

We need to crash the boards. That will be huge

Have watched about 5 of their games this year. They are very good on the boards. Hope Clyburn brings his game, I think he will be a tough matchup for them.

Nice write up. I think they will have trouble guarding us, but we'll have some problems too. I agree that rebounding is a key.

Re: Blum: Scouting the Fighting Irish

Really curious how the Niang v. Cooley/Knight/Sherman matchup plays out. Does Niang's quickness and range force ND to go small, a la OSU and Jurick, or are they athletic enough to keep up?

I'm guessing we'll torched from three. Our defense does not do a good job of staying home against unselfish teams that pass it around. I just hope they are cold and we are on.

Fred plays the numbers. I'm sure he will see they have equal scoring kind of like us, and try to stay at home more against the gaurds. Probably try to double down between Niang, Ejim, Booker, and maybe Percy if he plays but sticks to the gaurds.

Ill put any dollar that if I get this ball again, Long said, Its going in.

Cooley is going to provide a HUGE mismatch for our guys. He is a big, strong, hard working big man. We have to keep him off the offensive boards.

Not that complicated. If ISU is hitting 3s, they will move on. If not, then not. Safe to say ND does everything else better. Been that way all season against good teams, not going to change now.

Gotta keep Ejim and Niang out of foul trouble. They will come right at them!

I read this but was hoping to get some info on which of their players will get 28 more than his average. It would be really helpful to know and be prepared for this in advance.

That's the real catch here. They aren't athletic enough to keep up. And without Martin they don't have the guard depth to go small (from what I've seen). Biedscheid is 6'7", but a skinny 6'7" SG, not a forward. If they do go that small, it wouldn't surprise me to see us go even smaller with Will at the 4. In that case, they are basically playing all of their guards.

I'd guess they'll stick with their 2 bigs against our smaller, quicker front line and try to pound the boards and get Melvin and Georges in foul trouble. Should be interesting to watch
