    Interesting stats from yesterdays game

    During the 4th quarter:

ISU ran 3 total plays (2 minutes 40 seconds)
UNLV ran 28 plays (12 minutes 20 seconds)

    3 sacks for ISU defense
    0 sacks for UNLV defense

    ISU 100 % red zone efficiency (2TD 1 FG)
UNLV 50% red zone efficiency (1 TD 1 FG, 1 Miss FG, End of Game)

ISU: 37 rushing attempts, 21 passing attempts

UNLV average field position 1st half: 40 yd line of UNLV (see yards per kickoff return)

Average yards per kickoff return UNLV: 30
Average yards per kickoff return ISU: 14

Average yards per punt return UNLV: 0.7
Average yards per punt return ISU: 16

Blythe: 0 receptions, first time in collegate career

Also, did ISU partiially block the UNLV PAT that just made it through the goalpost. If so, it first time I can remember that in 2 consecutive games ISU has managed to partially block a kick and the opposing team scores points

ISU: Hicks turned in only the third 100-yard rushing game vs. UNLV in
    the last 17 Rebel games.

This was UNLV's 10th straight road game loss (0-4 all time vs ISU)

This is the second time under McCarney that ISU has started a season by
holding its first two opponents less than 100 rushing yards each (2004, UNI and Iowa).

Did you know Colorado leads the Big 12 in rush defense at 32 yards a game? Iowa State is fith.
    DEFENSE:
Iowa State is 11th on total ypg (352).
    Last in PPG at 26.5.
Tenth is scoring offense at 30.5 point per game.
Eleventh in total defense, 1.5 yards ahead of Kansas.
    OFFENSE:
8th at offense at 366 ypg.
7th in passing at 219 ypg.
8th in rushing at 148 ypg. Almost balanced.
4th at making 3rd downs per game and 3rd at %.
    9th in penalties.
    8th in total offense.
SPECIAL TEAMS: 10th at 39.1 yards for Punting.

We must be winning on intangibles.
Sorry performance to date stats spells Shreveport.
    We will do better.
