    Arrested Development Netflix series

What do other AD fans think of this coming up in May?

I've been excited about this for awhile..starting to lower my expectations. I didn't know they were doing 14 simultaneous episodes(each episode follows a different person during same time period), all released at the same time. The creator said they couldn't afford to get the cast for a whole season, and Arnett legally can't do a series since he was in one already. So they paid everyone to come in a few weeks each and do their own episode, with a little overlap.

Now I'm really hoping a movie happens eventually, because this sounds like it could be a huge letdown. I hope I'm wrong.

    Re: Arrested Development Netflix series

I watched the series on netflix a few months ago. The writing on the show is hilarious. If they can keep that same style I think the netflix series is going to be great. Excited to see what Buster and Gob have been up to.

I'm somewhat like you. Very hopeful that they exceed my expectations. It's a bummer that we can't see everyone much all together in ensemble scenes, they all play so well off of each other. With the same writers, though, I'm hopeful that they can keep a lot of the magic.

Is Arnett still in that "Up All Night"? Is that still on?

Up All Night will not be coming back. The creators pretty much crapped it down their legs with a new direction and the actors said "uh, no thanks" I think Will is going to be on Raising Hope a bit now if I remember right.

I think the creator also left around the second big wave of changes from the network. Pretty sure it was NBC screwing that show up from day one.

If House of Cards is any indicator, it should be very well done.

I thought I saw that the separate episodes for each character idea was scrapped before they started filming?

I couldnt remember the details, but towards the end I stopped watching that show. It started out as a show about new parents and it was relateable. After awhile, they dropped the kid thing and focused on the parents and Ava. It got lame.

Blame Bridesmaids. Pretty sure that Maya Rudolph's part was supposed to be pretty small and they totally re-tooled the show to give her a bigger part than the original pilot because she was in big hit comedy that summer.

We watched that show, and it was amazing how it morphed. Every character changed completely. It was strange. Though we still liked the show
