    History of Rock and Roll

Has anyone taken History of Rock and Roll taught by Dr. Stuart? If so what can you tell me about it? I hear it is much harder than it sounds.

Im in it right now. Music 102 was harder because the material was more boring. All points are attendance, tests, and the final project... It isn't hard if you like rock and roll.

Re: History of Rock and Roll

My son took it and loved it, but he really loves his music.

I think the prereq discourages a lot of people, music listening maybe? Also taught by Dr. Stuart but not as interesting. Still both were easy classes for him. And he got one of those weird requirements filled for taking it, not sure if it was diversity or something else.

Re: History of Rock and Roll

I took this class in 2006 with Dr. Stuart. I had a blast. It was a 300 level class as well so it actually helped toward graduation (it used to be music 104 but changed later on to music 3something). The class is easy in that you show up and take exams that are not that difficult. Plus, the final project was an absolute blast in that you get to select a genre of music you are into. I would highly encourage you to take this course.

Re: History of Rock and Roll

I took it way back when. It's easy as ****. If you don't already know most of the info in his class, go to class and pay attention just like anything else. It's one of the easiest classes I ever took and although I knew 95% of the info presented in that class beforehand...my friends who didn't had no trouble with it. This was like 6 years ago though so maybe they made it harder. Who knows.

That is very punny - especially when you get to the heavy metal history.

Yes, awesome class. Not a pushover. If you are an intelligent music fan, you will love it. If you are looking for a joke class take something else. You get graded a lot on attendance, so go to class
