Ya, and I'm sure that same recruit that sees a team winning the NIT would be like man........... what a juggernaut.

    Re: Would you rather...

If I KNEW we'd lose in the play-in vs NIT champs, I'd take NIT champs every day of the week. More ISU games to watch, home games, etc. The NIT champs get more exposure than play-in game losers.

But I would much rather be in the NCAA tournament with a chance to do some damage. But based on the question, I'd take the NIT championship.

    NCAA.

I would say winning the NIT is like screwing your sister.

Exactly, based on the question I'm not sure why you would choose to lose the play-in game over winning the NIT championship.

Because I like hearing my teams name called on Selection Sunday, even if it means losing in the play-in game. And playing in the NIT does THIS team absolutely no good.

I can't remember last years NIT champion, but I can't remember last years play-in games either. Easily would just like to make the tournament, tie for 65th is still better than 69th.

The best part about the NCAA's is hearing your name called selection Sunday. The rest is gravy.

That sounds like loser talk. It's an honor just to be nominated?

    Re: Would you rather...

Remembering the NIT run under Wayne Morgan, I bet many more people would remember a NIT championship over losing a play-in game in the NCAA. Is it cool to be in the NCAA tournament? Yes. But if I'm guaranteed to lose the play-in game, give me the NIT championship.

Wanting to win the loser tournament over making the real tournament sounds like loser talk as well.

If the option was just to make the real tournament without knowing the outcome or win the NIT then it'd be a no brainer, but the option is to lose in the play-in game, which would benefit us in no way other than Joe Lunardi or whoever might say our name.
