AMES, Iowa – Iowa State senior men’s basketball player Anthony Booker made the following statement Monday:
“I have personally written President Clements and the West Virginia student body president apologizing for making an obscene gesture towards the West Virginia student section in our basketball game Saturday. I got caught up in the emotions of a hard-fought game and lost my composure. It was a poor decision on my part and I am sorry for conducting myself in this manner. I also wish to express regret for putting our university and our basketball program in a poor light. I have learned a valuable life lesson as a result of my poor decision.”
He made a mistake and this was the right thing to do. No matter who wrote it - it was still the right thing to do. Without this Book could have been out for Thursday and this board would have gone nuts.
We win games off of hard work. We might now have the best talent in the league but we are going to work harder than everybody else.” Georges Niang 7/2013
