    2007 Odyssey opinions

Looking for any opinions on the '07 Odyssey.

    - If you got the Nav system do you like it? The reviews I'm seeing say it's not very accurate.

    - Anything you would have done different?

    - Any preference of Holmes over Ames Honda? (I saw no Cyclone stuff at Ames so I was disappointed)

    Re: 2007 Odyssey opinions

I have the '05, with navigation. I NEVER use it. We have had it almost 3 years now, and have used it like 3 times, but we never travel outside of central iowa.

I bought ours from Holmes, I was pretty indifferent about them. Their service however is SLLLLOOOOWWWWW... If you want to just get an oil change, plan on it being 2 hrs.

A friend of mine has a new quest, and it is pretty nice, I think if I had to do it all over again, I would have spent the extra coin on a sienna.

I wouldn't buy anything from Ames Honda. They just didn't seem nice to me to work with. I live in Cedar Rapids but I bought my Odyssey from Iowa City - a HUGE mistake. I would go check out the Hondas at Randy Keuhl in Cedar Rapids if you don't mind making the trip - as far as dealership goes. I do not have any experience with Des Moines area Honda dealers.

Personally, I don't see a point in getting navigation system, but that could change when cars come with navigation as standard in near future.

I would look at the Nissan CX-9 too if I were you. Odyssey and Sienna are still the better choices with majority of minivan owners though.

You were using your putter at a driving range?

I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone.

    Re: 2007 Odyssey opinions

I have Nav in my Charger and I don't use it very often but it does come in handy when we head into the city. I usually use it to get me close as I have a good idea where I am going most of the time, plus my wife tends to turn it on to have something to watch while I am driving. Don't ask me must be the shiny toy syndrome? But for the money you spend on it now I don't really know if it would be worth it for you or not it would depend on if you think you would use it much.

    Re: 2007 Odyssey opinions

My parents have an older Odyssey, probably one of the first models with the navigation system. It's not used very often, but over the past 6-7 years, it has more than paid itself off, especially in traffic jams. You might not use it very frequently, but if you do a lot of trips, it's a major convenience.

I feel my Nav system is fairly accurate. One thing it does is mark restaurants by name and gas stations on the highways and hospitals.

    Re: 2007 Odyssey opinions

I bought my 07 Odyssey EX about a year ago. I'm not missing the navigation system. It's a neat toy, but do you really need one here in Iowa? If you want one I'd buy a portable Tom Tom or Garmin that you can move between vehicles.

We still love the van! My only complaint with it is some road noise on cement pavement. Some people think the Toyota Sienna is quieter but I didn't notice much difference when we were test driving them. They're both good choices. We preferred the Honda styling and handling over the Toyotas.

You might check the new Dodges out. The reviews on them have been decent and they now have the safety and convience features that were missing a year ago when we were looking.

    Good Luck.
