The best part about the writers strike

Has to be the best of SNL that the are playing. Old Bill Murray, Chris Farley and Will Ferrell skits seem to be so much better than the stuff they have put out the last few years, minus the Weiner in a box skit.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

Maybe you could use some of your credits to get the writers strike settled. Heard the writers want a big cut of DVD sales. Seems to me thse cheap Walmart Black Friday DVDs would have to cost a bit more if the writers have their way.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

Yeah that is what I have heard too and I think they should get some of the residuals since they play as big of a part in a show/film as the actors/actresses do. Oh well good thing sports don't rely on writers, except WWE.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

The Office and Scrubs are pretty much screwed. The Office is already out of new shows until the strike ends and Scrubs only has scrips written for 12 episodes. And since this is the last season of scrubs, if the strike doesn't end soon the Scrubs series finale could never be seen on TV (straight to DVD) or even worse, never written. And those are my two favorite shows. I hope this stike ends soon, very soon.

The only show I watch regularly is Law and Order SVU, and I haven't heard what kind of impact it could have on it.

We could be watching a lot of primetime sports through the holidays and beyond.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

I hope the strike lasts quite awhile. I've always been fascinated at how involved some people get with their drama shows, even though they're all stories played out in fantasy-land. It'll be fun watching those people get angered by the strike. And I'll still be able to enjoy all the sports I can watch, all with (presumably) unscripted outcomes.

I heard a couple of days ago that SNL fired all but two people on the show. Yikes.

There's also people who are fascinated at how involved some people get with their sports, even though they're something that fans have no control over. Yet the outcome of a sporting event can seriously alter the mood of a person.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

All I really watch is sports and 24. So I am pretty disapointed in the 24 deal. But I would rather have it postponed then have them air 8 or 9 episodes and then post-pone it.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

As far as I am concerned, the people in general should be striking against the writers. We haven't had very many good movies in quite a while. They just keep rehashing old material.

You mean like 2009? They were not going to start 24 until the end of Jan anyway.

Re: The best part about the writers strike

I haven't read much about this strike, but the one thing that was interesting was how many of the daytime "talk" shows were going to be shutting down due to the strike. Evidently some of these hosts can't put a complete sentence together unless they can read it off a card.
