    Phantom 3 vs last night.

Bigger wtf? I would say last night due the end of the game timing and where we stand with making the tourny

Correlation: Tom O'Neill officiated both games. I hope ISU makes sure he never refs another ISU game again.

Referee sent scare into Villanova coach - Tucson Citizen Morgue, Part 1 (2006-2009)

here for Villanova’s regional final game against Pittsburgh was the name of the man who tormented him the last time the Wildcats played North Carolina in the tourney. No, Rashad McCants or Raymond Felton were not wearing Tar Heels uniforms.
It was lead official Tom O’Neill who made the usually collected coach feel a bit jittery.
“I admit, I was scared,” Wright said Monday. “I was shocked when I saw that. We said hello to each other. During the game we didn’t get into anything. I purposely tried to stay away.”
Villanova fans haven’t forgotten O’Neill’s whistle and the controversial traveling call on former Wildcat Allan Ray in the final seconds of a regional semifinal loss to North Carolina in 2005. Ray sank the basket and for a few fateful seconds thought he was going to the free-throw line with a chance to tie the game.
Instead, the bucket was erased and the Tar Heels took advantage of the call and escaped with a 67-66 win.
“That’s going to be a theme,” Wright said. “I guess a lot of fans are going to be remembering that.”
Coach Roy Williams led North Carolina to the national championship that season.

Referees whistle 49 times during Syracuse’s loss to Ohio State*|*The Juice Online
Officials John Higgins, Thomas O’Neill and Michael Nance made their presence known during Syracuse’s 77-70 loss to Ohio State in the NCAA East Region Final.
James Southerland, Aaron Kraft and Dion Waiters all fouled out. Baye Keita, Rakeem Christmas and CJ Fair each had four fouls. Besides Kraft, no other OSU player had more than three fouls.

Even SU coach Jim Boeheim picked up a foul—of the technical variety—after arguing a charging call assessed to Brandon Triche toward the end of the first half. Boeheim was not given an explanation from O’Neill.
“First one in about three years, I think,” Boeheim said.
The last time was actually on Nov. 21, 2010.
“[The foul] was assessed for being out of the coach’s box and gesturing about a call,” Higgins said in a statement after the game. He added that O’Neill said, “That was the third or fourth time, and I said ‘enough.’”
As for Boeheim’s thoughts on the officiating?
    “No comment,” he said.
    The Juice was not happy.

The funny thing about the phantom 3. The refs all started blowing there whistles right when the ball went in. They knew they messed up. However, they still waited until KU made a three pointer to hlow the whistles.

I thought the funniest thing was the announcers saying " Well they got it right. The refs got it right. Good job".

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.
