    Bring on KU in K.C.

I know I am looking way ahead, but screw it, we don't have another game until Saturday.

I have seen around here that it is extremely likely for ISU to play in the 4-5 game on Thursday of the conference tournament. KU also has the inside track for the 1 seed.

If there is a year for us to finally win a game in KC, Dear Lord, please let this be it. A win in the 4-5 game sets us up for a third shot at these guys in the conference tournament semifinal on Friday. I can't even begin the image the kind of rage that this team would have in getting another shot at the Jayhawks. ISU might shoot 75% from behind the arc.

So, this is my prayer to the basketball gods, that if I can only guarantee one more win this season, I choose ISU's first game in the conference tournament so that we can see them go on to finally finish against the Jayhawks and advance to play for a conference title. Amen.

i am completely with you on this, then I think to myself...be careful what you wish for. Then I woke up this morning and thought, screw it I want them again.

Anyone going to KC, go to the KU games and send Johnson our regards from Hilton.

Who cares who you play? Just beat whoever is on the line paired with yours. Opponent is immaterial.

Wish I felt this way, but after getting kicked in the nuts during both KU games - going 0-2 against the conference Goliath when I sincerely feel we deserve to be 2-0 - makes me want another shot.

Re: Bring on KU in K.C.

So they say its hard to beat a team 3 times, right? So obviously it would be hard for KU to beat ISU in the semis of the Big 12 Tourney.

However, ISU would still have to win that first game against OU. Since ISU beat OU once already this year, and its hard to beat a team 3 times, does that mean we are cheering for OU to win Saturday so we can get the rematch with KU?

Start Percy. Tell him not to pass up the chance to foul Johnson on his way to the hoop. Don't pass it up.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

I think it should be Booker giving the foul. I think he'd enjoy it more than Percy.

While I'd love to beat KU in a revenge game, wins in the NCAA tournament >>>> than beating KU in the conference tourney. I'd gladly lose to KU a third time if it meant a Sweet 16 run for the Cyclones.

Bring 'em on baby. Would love to see Melvin with an eff-you, rim-rocking tomahawk dunk as the clock runs to cap our victory at the Sprint Center.

Re: Bring on KU in K.C.

Best thread on this site after last night. As ****** I was all of last night and all of today, the thought of Babb, Mcgee, Luscious, Ejim, Niang, and Clyburn having that look in their eye like they smell blood just makes me happy. I pray we get the chance. Karma will bite them in the *** so hard. I don't see how it would be possible to get any more motivation than we would have in that game. Fingers crossed.

How would losing to Kansas a third time help us get into the Sweet Sixteen?

Beating or losing to KU in a third game doesn't have anything to do with the NCAA tournament which is my point. The Cyclones can secure their NCAA destiny without KU involved. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get another shot at KU and beat them, but all I care about right now is making the NCAA tournament. Obviously, if ISU is in a position where they need to beat the Jayhawks in the conference tourney to secure a NCAA bid, then it needs to happen. But when people start to play the "hypothetical" game and say stuff like this...

...I'm going to call BS. Crap like the above reminds me of football fans who say nonsense like, "I don't care what we do in conference as long as we beat Iowa." If people really had one wish from the basketball gods, they would want ISU to lose their last 3 regular season games in order to guarantee 1 win in the conference tourney just to set up a rematch against KU? Call me crazy, but I take an NCAA tourney berth over revenge every day of the week.

This KU grad would love nothing more than to face ISU again in KC. The games have been incredible between the two teams this year.
