Loose ball foul on Babb late in Reg

I know most of the officiating rants will be on the no Charge call or why didn't Withey pick up his 5th earlier.

But the loose ball foul on Babb was absolutely a terrible call and to put a player on the line there was criminal.

yeah, a loose ball foul called when the ball was clearly on the floor and the KU player was out of bounds.

Why do refs decide the games in the B12?

This.....This was the game changer here. When given a subjective call, the imperfect referees in a split second the a mind calculation: "call against KU and get a wrath from the Roy Williams Cult or call against ISU" He called against ISU.....all he got was a few boos and an "Awww, shucks" from the ISU bench. That was micro-psychological conditioning. This call basically insured that any similar split second subjective call at end of game would again go against ISU again.....and it did.
Somebody on that coaching staff....and if it isn't Fred, a surrogate...is going to have to start throwing chairs in games against KU or Michigan State in Auburn Hills. And don't get pious on me KU fans, you're assistant coaches are working it as much as anybody with the referees.

And to be fair, we were the beneficiary of some of them. I thought it was a pretty poor job of officiating overall, but for much of the game it was more or less evenly poorly officiated. But no question we got completely screwed at the end. Indisputable.

Total difference between winning and losing and maybe going to the NCAA.

Yah, that was just one of a ton of bad calls. Not to mention that Withey committed his first of like 11 5th fouls on that play, to slap the ball out in the perimeter.

Yep. There are games where you can look at a bad call or two and say "Yes, but that's not why we lost the game".

This isn't one of them. We lost this game because of those calls at the end. The refs gave the game to Kansas. No argument is possible.

Re: Loose ball foul on Babb late in Reg

And then the blatant missed over the back on Withey was terrible as well. There were just too many bad calls for this to be acceptable. Of course, the refs don't have to talk after the game and the NCAA won't do anything.

The refs aren't held accountable, it's ridiculous.
