    Spring Signing

Does anyone know if CBF has any offers out to kids for the spring signing period? A 4/5 maybe? A replacement for Bingley?

Last we heard, there were no plans to sign anyone else this year. But they are definitely looking for transfers, other sport athletes, etc, that would help our depth at least. So someone could suddenly pop up.

    Re: Spring Signing

They are definitely searching everywhere for a center. Bill has been saying this for a couple months now. More than likely if they can find one it will be a Juco and as always one that fits ISU's culture.

    Re: Spring Signing

I certainly hope we can find a juco to come in and play center. The idea of not having anyone with any real experience playing the 5 position at a collegiate level worries me greatly. I don't want us to be as Kansas State ended up this year, where any other team with a center eats up the paint scores pretty much at will. Not even so concerned about finding a proven scorer, but simply someone with the potential to step in and be a threat. Pop is irreplacable, but the team needs more than it currently will have returning/coming in under the basket.

All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots.

Hallie at 6-3 need not be forced to play center. She needs free reign as a forward. She has been just great in the last few games.

    Re: Spring Signing

Spring signing is not unusual for Jucos. I think we had several sign in Spring when Lauren Mansfield came in. By the way Lauren is playing in Australia.

    Re: Spring Signing

I think G was a late, though expected, signee. Kim was a late hire at Baylor and brought in parts of a very competitive class in the spring. It's possible, but, a long shot, I would not despair in any event, I like our returnees and signees, a lot

    Re: Spring Signing

This post in the volleyball forum raises the question of Hannah Willms returning to the vball team.

Might she have more impact on the wbb team?

Which is Hannah Willms’ best sport? If you ask her father … neither. “I have to be careful here,” said Scott Willms. “But I think her best sport is basketball.” Basketball? She doesn’t even play basketball any more. “She was great at it,” said her father, who coached her middle-school teams to a 33-0 record. “They were good. Very, very good. But Hannah just didn’t like it much.” “I did like it,” said Hannah, a senior at Dike-New Hartford. “But then I started playing volleyball.

How about getting Taylor Knuth to hang around ISU for another year as a 5 and bring Hannah along with her as a shot blocker and fast-break finisher?

    Re: Spring Signing

Dont see that happening. I have a feeling we will not have the height. Looks like more like the k state season this year for us next year.
