    Biggest Game at Hilton Since?

It's been a long time since I've been *this* hyped-up for an ISU home game. Fill in the blank. Biggest home game since: ___________.

Last year's game against KU was extremely important from a getting over the hump perspective. BUT, didn't have the extracurricular factors with being at night on Big Monday, etc..

I'd say most hype for a home game since Kansas in 2001.

Probably just Baylor last year. That game had big ramifications. The fun part about this game vs. the KU game last year is that last year I just thought we could win. I'm really expecting to win this year. It's fun that we are at that point.

Agreed! Don't think anything since then has matched the hype this game tonight is bringing. Fun to read the post-game write-up from that one: No. 7 Cyclones Beat No. 6 Jayhawks for Fifth Straight Time - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports

I was going to say that , but I almost backed it up to ISU vs KU 1997. That game was crazy as Dedric went off

I agree Baylor was a big game last year, but it was broadcast on MC22, which really didn't give it the feeling that tonight's game is getting. I remember being pretty amped up for the last Big Monday game against Texas back in 2005, but that game turned out to be a dud. This might be the most excited I have ever been for a game at Hilton that I can remember, given I did not rally start following ISU too hardcore until the 2002-2003 season.

    ...Saturday.

When you are this close to Tourney time, they are all big.

Yeah, if you were as hyped about the Tech game as you are for tonight's game, then you have problems!

Re: Biggest Game at Hilton Since?

Is this a historically big game? No. It's Kansas... a team ISU has beaten before, will beat tonight, and will continue to beat on a regular basis in the future. This game is a big game because it is on Big Monday, it is on primetime ESPN, and because this is a payback game for the game those bastards stole from us earlier this year on a total fluke of a shot at the buzzer.

To be honest... I think ISU wins this game by more then 10 points tonight because I don't think the Jayhawks have the firepower to keep up with the Cyclones in Hilton. Kansas struggles to score especially on the road. Kansas put up 68 points against Okie State in Stillwater which is their highest scoring performance in conference play on the road and it took double OT for them to do it. They are averaging 61.86 points per game in conference road games. Iowa State is averaging 79.86 points per game in conference games in Hilton. Do the math... it spells DOOM for Kansas in Hilton tonight.

Probably Baylor or KU last year. Both games were huge.
