On a Snowy Day......Worth Watching Again.....20 Years Ago Today

    Cyclone Basketball ‏@CycloneMBB
Twenty years ago today ISU won a Big Monday game vs. Kansas.#cyclones http://fb.me/uHhyipYV

It's a highlight reel, not the whole game. Love the announcer's comments, including those in studio.

-Be kind. That is something you will never regret. You will never say to yourself when you are old "I wish I was not good to that person".

I've lost a couple hours watching basketball games that happened before I was born now. Thanks.

Also these are good examples of past crowds at Hilton.

I always love playing Kansas. Iowa State has gotten more bad calls or no calls against that team than any other, even in Hilton. Even in that video there are two back to back shots Freddy put up where he got absolutely trucked after the shot. Of course, the officials swallowed their whistles.

"There are five real good recruits in the state. We got three of them. One couldn’t get into school, and the other went to (the University of) Iowa...which is about the same thing." - Coach Johnny Orr

What a great game. Loved being there for that one. I haven't been to a BBall game for a few years, but dang they were fun when I was there in the early 90s.

    3 observations:

    1. I always find it weird how much random gray and white was worn back then. When did it become expected that you wear the team logo and colors?

    2. It looks weird with the extra players on the line during free throws.

    3. The PA guy says "We got 'em" just like he did last season. I didn't realize it was the same guy. I've being going to games since about this time and I always thought there had been a change at some point.

I don't bring my own opinions, just attack others.

People keep posting these things, I keep burning up time I should be working because I go from that video to the next, then to the next, then to the next. They are fun to watch.

My last stop is always the '01 KU game in Hilton when Sullivan hit the 3 from the court logo. That shot never gets old. Still gives me goosebumps.

Can't seem to get it to load on my phone. Is this the game when Loren Meyer climbs on the hoop at the end? It was against Kansas but not sure on the year.

Is it me or do those hoops look like they're 8 feet tall?

I just watched that whole game yesterday on an old tape. That crowd had KU so rattled. They had 20 plus turnovers.

One thing I noticed when watching the game was the student section was in the parquet behind the KU bench and maybe behind one of the baselines. I don't remember it like that. Does anybody know how long it was that way and when they switched?

Also I'm pretty sure I saw Seneca in the stands. I wonder if he was on a visit. I could easily see that game making him want to become a Cyclone.
