Last Year v. This Year Records

If we beat TT on Saturday, we will have the same record as last year's team at this point in the season: 19-8 (9-5). Last year's team went on to finish the regular season with a record of 22-9 (12-6), losing only one more game before the conference tournament.

No way to know at this point whether we can match the finish of last year's team. But, I see similarities in the way both teams started to gel around the same point in the season. If we only lose one more game before the Big XII tournament, that will speak volumes about Fred's coaching ability, especially considering he changed style of play to fit his personnel.

"Of course the people don't want war ... the people can always be brought to do the bidding of the leaders. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to greater danger."

Re: Last Year v. This Year Records

    Last year's team finished with:

    vs Oklahoma W, 80-69
    vs Texas Tech W, 72-54
    @ Kansas State W, 65-61
    @ Missouri L, 78-72
    vs Baylor W, 80-72

We'll again have 3 home games and 2 road games in the final five. There's a decent chance we could match 22-9, but we'll definitely have to take care of business at home against KU and OSU and gain at least a split of @OU and @WVU. Winning either road game would be roughly equivalent of winning @KSU last year.

Last years finish, especially K-State and Baylor, was really exciting to watch. Almost had Mizzou too.
