What I like most about Niang

His attitude. My favorite part of the game was after he got his 4th foul, he huddled with the guys out there clapping and giving them encouragement. I like it because he makes about the team, not about him.

I like, and am a bit shocked, that he is our most "heady" player

He's really mature for his young age. The team has really good chemistry. I don't think that they're better without Royce, but they seem to really play well together.

At the beginning of the year (actually per-season), I was very concerned of his limited vertical and thought he'd struggle against the B12 bigs. But his strength and sticky hands more than compensate; he's gonna be a terror for 3 more years.

Re: What I like most about Niang

He has been that way since day one! I can't wait to watch him evolve in years to come. But honestly it's difficult to pin point my favorite player since each one carries themselves well in different games but if I had to pick it would be Ejim/Niang......but there is McGee....wait but Clyburn/Lucius.....but Babbs D hell we have a good team lets just keep it up and go dancing!

Fred's comment on Niang when he signed. Its pretty spot on. He didn't say anything about others being immediate impacts.

    Hoiberg on Niang:
"Georges will make an immediate impact in our program. He can score with anyone on the block and can take his defender on the perimeter and score from there. He is a throwback player who will find a way to beat you. He also plays the game with passion and is a player who will make his teammates better."

This Hoiberg guy seems to understand player evaluation.

Exactly. Its rare for a freshman to do that. I remember when Fizer was a freshman, you could tell how good he was because of his shot. I'm not comparing the 2, just saying when freshman have obvious skills it is a good indication of things to come. Some guys start at a high level and become great. Others show potential early but gradually get better, guys for example like Ejim and Homan.

Re: What I like most about Niang

I literally LOL at some of the buckets he gets. Like tonight.....
We ( forget who) throw a pass at him as he's running away from the area and he has no clue that the ball is heading for him. Then at the last second he turns, catches it (amazing catch) and puts in a contested layup against a defender that has 4 inches on him.
