    DIY TV Antenna

Just moved and am going to cut the cable.
I picked up a cheap set-top antenna and get a few channels, but it struggles with vhf high signals. Instead of spending a bunch on an antenna for the attic, I was wondering if anyone on here has built their own antenna and how it worked out?
There are a ton of ideas on the interwebs and I'm not sure the best route to take.

Try this model. On a clear night I can pick up JXJB in Fargo from Cedar Rapids if I stand by a second story north facing window.

Spend the 20 bucks for an attic one.

It's more like a hundred for a decent one.

    Re: DIY TV Antenna

Go to this website AntennaWeb - Home this will help you in finding out which antenna you would need. I would think around 100 bucks should get you all the channels. Just depends where you are at. I am in Fort Dodge and I get 21 channels but I get 4 stations of IPT. We cut cable a year ago or so and love it. When there is nothing on I think to myself I do not pay for this crap lol. PM me if you need any help with it.

    Re: DIY TV Antenna

I got an HD antenna from monoprice.com . It's an Indoor/outdoor kind and works great. It was only about $20 with shipping and we get a bunch of channels. It was a great buy.
