My dad played basketball with that guy in 1981 or whenever it was the first time he went. I just think its crazy a 54 y/o man can keep up with college age kids, albeit the competition is pretty bad, its still impressive playing 25 mpg.

I bet it's quite the sight. Not sure how I'd feel about my dad even GOING to the same college as me at the same time, let alone playing on the same basketball team.
Nevertheless, sounds like its a good time for them

So does the 5 year clock not apply? He first played in 81. Also dubuque has a lot of colleges: clarke, loras, dubuque U. Wartburg seminary, and emmaeus? So six colleges when you count the community college there, wow.

If the son don't mind I guess its cool. However, sometimes its not your time anymore and need to let your kids shine.

Pretty sure it was technically a "club team" in 81. That's the way my dad makes it sound at least. And they aren't governed by the NCAA which comes into effect too.

My officemate is from the Buffalo area so I printed off the story for him. He said he saw it in the paper but didn't know the guy since my officemate's kids went to Rockford schools.

It is the smallest of what are considered the metro counties, so it is not as lame as it's Iowa counterpart.
