    Baylor at UCONN

Being partial to The BIG XII I really want the Lady Bears to pull off a win. But to be honest, I think UCONN has Baylor's number. It's on ESPN2 at 8:00 tonight.

UCONN leads in many statistical categories and parity at the top of the NCAA WBB makes for a really big event with #1 vs. #2.

    Re: Baylor at UCONN

I hate almost all things Baylor so they must lose tonight. If not for RGIII I would be able to claim to hate EVERYTHING Baylor. I suppose I should hate him for not allowing me to hate all things Baylor?

Griner is a total a hole. She should have been thrown out of the game after pulling the opponent to the ground again.

Baylor wins, at Connecticut. That ought to put to rest any doubts that they are number 1 for the moment anyway. Griner just does what she can get away with, that is what basketball players are supposed to do. The referees are supposed to set the parameters.

Geno purposely was provoking her with triple teaming that many times was whistle-worthy hacking/mugging. Don't know if that is an excuse for her sharp response but if Anna would fight like that I'd be ambivalent.

    Re: Baylor at UCONN

I usually like Dolson of UConn, but she had the antics of an Iowa post player tonight. Yelling, screaming, jumping. Just stuff to get on your nerves. Plus most of the time tonight, she exaggerated the situation or faked injury to try to get a call. One minute, she's on the floor grabbing her ankle, the next she's up and walking without a limp. How many times have players grabbed our players arms and it doesn't get called. Dolson threw herself forward and made it look bad. On the play closer to the basket, looked like Dolson intentionally wrapped herself in Griner's arms and went to the floor. I know there's cheap stuff by Griner, but Dolson was being equally cheap or worse by instigating it.

In this game, the refs fell for some of it, but not all of it.

Dolson will be the dominate WBB center next year when UCONN takes the top spot again. They only lose Doty and some other lesser player for '13-'14 and add a few more super preps.

Dolson's antics here looked to be a way of dealing with her frustration of making insufficient impact on Griner's play to lessen her impact on the outcome of the game. Whereas, Griner externalized her's directly at UCONN players with shoves.

Aside derision for Griner's actions vs UCONN, I have read little praise in that we just saw one of the greatest WBB players defeat what is arguable one of the best WBB program's better teams on their home court. Mostly what I hear is widespread adolescence insecurities arise to question Griner as a person.

I haven't posted anything today yet about hating Baylor, so here goes, I hate Baylor, and it has very little to do with Griner. I am perfectly capable of hating Baylor while remaining indifferent about Griner.
