    Chris' musings

This is probably one of the best pleas I have heard. I get upset when we lose but I can't understand calling out players and coaches every time we do. Rhoads addressed it one of his pressers and we almost lost a recruit due to it. If we lose how about stepping back from the keyboard, getting a beverage of your choice and chilling for a while. Then send your message.

-" On those same lines, is it possible for Iowa State to lose a game anymore and not have a full-blown meltdown on our forums? I get passion. I love the passion. Your passion is why I have a job and for that I am forever thankful! But can’t there be a level of disappointment after a loss, between meltdown mode and cheerleader, glass is always half-full guy? There has to be a middle ground right?"

I hope this isnt illegal in any way about cutting and pasting but I couldn't figure out to get this onto the forum

    Re: Chris' musings

Am I witnessing a potential meltdown thread about an anti-meltdown comment regarding meltdowns?

    If so, proceed.

I do agree that there is a thin line of criticism we can give the players.

    Re: Chris' musings

I am not a troll. I have been on here for a long time. Chris has his Monday musings on the front page. I cut and pasted from his blog. I just thought his point was well thought out and wanted to get more people to read it.

    Re: Chris' musings

Although I do agree that people should not call out players on twitter. I agree that people should not threaten players or reduce to calling them names. I do think a fan should be able to show frustration on a message board about a players performance.

I do find some of the PC around here now days disturbing. I started a thread a while back asking if Cyclone fanatic contributed to the rise of ISU. Pointing out that the uniting and expanding of the fan base was a important part of the Cyclones recent success That thread got shut down with a statement that no one at CF is taking credit for ISU improvement. That was never a claim, but still now I have those same people willing to get on here and point out that negative reaction on here can lead to a negative consequences for ISU. Can't have it both ways.

Fair enough. It is a valid point. I know other forums have major meltdowns, but that is a BS comparison. My only question is: if we can't go to a "fanatical" website to meltdown, where can you go? By definition, to be a fanatic is to be irratioinal/delusional in the level of support. Sometimes support yields anger (which is odd, but human nature) and momentary lapses in "faith". Even Abraham's (the most devout zealot/fanatic of all time) faith was tested and anger/questioning was a part of that (Bible reference, but had to do it as it is the iconic "fanatic"). Catharsis is a part of any meltdown, whether I like it or not.
