    Your Concert Experiences/Advice

Alright so it's exactly three weeks until me and my roommate will be heading down to St. Louis to take in our first Muse concert live... So for a Friday off-topic thread, I guess I was looking for other people's stories on how early we should plan on getting there or other useful tidbits of info that could be shared... Also, feel free to just share your favorite performance that you've ever attended live!

For reference, we have floor tickets, so they are first-come first-serve, and the concert starts at 7:30. If we were wanting to get a pretty good spot down there, how early would we have to show up?

The sock is an excellent mechanism for smuggling certain items inside the venue.

    Also, Muse, jealous.

Favorite live show... I saw Tenacious D in a small venue when they toured for their first album. I'd been a fan since the HBO show, so it was pretty cool.

Most of my experiences/tips only work if you have boobs. Sorry.

The best concert experience I ever had was seeing Daft Punk at Lollapalooza. This isn't from that show, but they played the same set everywhere, so it will give you an idea of how awesome it was. PLEASE TOUR AGAIN, DAFT PUNK!!!1!

    Re: Your Concert Experiences/Advice

I dont know... Im kind of becoming a concert snob anymore... The last show I went to with my wife was Trampled by Turtles and it was a GA show.. small venue.. I guess im sick of the people who feel like they need to have a 5ft cir to dance in. (im more of a head bobber) BUT at the same time I have a hard time ******** and telling people how THEY should enjoy the show. So anymore I try to opt for reserved seating or VIP are if available...

Also I have never been a fan of getting in line super early to get front row for a GA show because I usually like to partake in the usual concert activities... ie drinking and smoking.. but if that isnt your thing then I say go for it get there and get in line and get right up front..

Saw 30 Seconds to Mars 4 times in the early 2000's (is that called the otts?) in Des Moines.
If anyone remembers the old Toad Holler venue, that was the best band performance I've ever seen. They opened for Chevelle. Jared Leto did a stage dive and his foot kicked me in the face. He was like OMG dude, you OK?
They stuck around and took pictures later with everyone while Chevelle was playing and he came up and mentioned it again. Nice guy.

    Re: Your Concert Experiences/Advice

I saw Green Day at Wells Fargo Arena and had GA tickets and had to pick them up when we got there for the show. There were lines stretching all the way around the building, but bc we were inside to pick up the tickets, we stayed in there and were basically first in line when the doors opened. Ended up on the fence in the front.

Fitzy, is that your venue? Son went to a concert in St. Louis, can't remember the name of the venue (or the band, lol) but it was very close to Wash. U.
