    Re: Possible Transfer

I don't think he'd be bad, but I think we can do better. In a larger class like this previous one no problem. But with with Jucos it's even now and I think we can bring in 3 better high school recruits.

I'll take getting to the tournament! In addition to great athletes, we need some players that just have that knack of playing the game. Before the freshman wall, Georges was that. And he will be again. For the last decade, we have good athletes, but for whatever reason they just don't win games. I don't know if it is just me, but we seem to run so many great plays, or we take it to the hoop, but just cannot finish. Year after year. A couple examples from the Texas game were Will not scoring on the perfect alley oop when we were up 17-9. He scores, we go up 10. Texas might quit. Instead, they go on a run.

Then late in the game, Melvin makes a great move, but when he is wide open gets his shot blocked from behind. If he had just taken a dribble and used the rim as a shield, like we are taught in high school, he gets an easy lay-in from the left side. This in no way is a criticism of ME. He is awesome, and has made great strides. 2 years ago, he couldn't catch a pass. Now he takes it to the hoop effectively. He will be huge next year.

We just need some guys that make the easy play all the time.

On the surface very different but at it's core, very much the same.

EDIT: Also in both offenses all five players are much more interchangeable than in many standard offenses.

If I'm all wet on that, please educate me further on the Princeton offense.
If you get the chance to see Northwestern play on the Big ten channel, watch a little bit and see what you think. It's alot more deliberate offense with alot of screening and backdoor cutting, lulling the opposing team to sleep. Earlier years games with them resulted in alot of below 50 point scoring totals. They do adapt with the players they have to run it, but not a big fan of this style. Boring but some what effective against superior opponents.

Seen him play several times for Northwestern. Very mediocre player, looked very slow on the court and that was with comparison to a bunch of other slow guys on Northwestern's team. Do not want unless he's coming in here for free (walk on, no earning of scholarship).

    Re: Possible Transfer

Would you guys rather him go to Iowa and then end up scoring 15 points a game for them? I'm not saying he'll do that, but give the kid a chance.

If we thought he was a 15 ppg guy this would be a no-brainer. Iowa does not factor into this discussion.

I'm just saying, I think he's worth taking a shot on. He was pretty highly recruited out of high school and he's only a Freshman.

6'7" with a nice shot a quick release would be a great role player off the bench when you're having trouble scoring. If that ever happens under Freddie.

Has anyone seen both Abrahamson and Uthoff their senior years in HS?

I was wondering who was more talented

I don't know why we would take him after passing on Jok. Seems like Jok has a higher upside and 4 yrs versus 3 after sitting out for KA.

Other than that they seem like similar prospects
