Correct...they just have to show up! That counts...although a district might look poor for doing so but once the school day starts they could cancel it for an emergency and count it as a day.

I get that feeling too...or I am just tired of waiting for it to get to NE Iowa. Still going with the experts that are predicting 5 to 7 inches here...

I agree, I think anywhere north of Des Moines is going to get some dry air from the north and limit snowfall in half for Ames all the way to the Iowa/Minny border!

From the radar its almost looking like Des Moines isn't going to get hit that bad.

So why exactly did schools in central Iowa let out 2 hours early?

Re: Very Early 2/21 Weather Thread

I am so sick of people/schools/the news freaking out about a snowstorm.

It snows, it gets plowed, life goes on. We can't control it so why is there such an intense focus on weather all the time? It seems like over the past 10 years storms have been hyped up so much for nothing it will ruin the meaning of a real storm.

The obvious reason is so we can be best prepared to deal with any situation.

That said...please post more because I love that pic...Katy Perry is yum!
